Purpose of surveyA survey to determine if:1) people will vote to legalize marijuana and remove criminal and civil penalties Why I want to do the surveyIf we are going to legalize marijuana personally I think we should have unlimited grow rights and unlimited possession right. But Andrew Myers, MPP or Marijuana Policy Project and NORML seem to say the people won't vote for that. Of course I am skeptical and think that Andrew Myers, MPP and NORML want to create a government monopoly for the dispensaries so they can get rich selling the rest of us marijuana at $300+ an ounce prices. And that they have a financial interest in making it illegal for people to grow marijuana or possess more then a small amount of marijuana. That's so they can use the police to arrest anybody they think is cutting into to their government monopoly on growing and selling marijuana. The purpose of this survey it to answer those questions. Things that need to be done in my viewI view this survey as a three step process.Step 1 - I run the survey by you guys and we use your input to tweek it into something that makes us all happy about the questions that need to be answered and how to ask those questions. Step 2 - I would like to run the survey in environments that might not give a statistically valid sample just to get a gut feel of how how well the questions are written and about how people are answering them. And then tweek the survey based on that. I would say in this step we give the survey to people at public places like ASU, the community colleges, Tempe Transit Center, a mall or shopping center and other public places. Perhaps even Billy's Purple Haze House, all that wouldn't be statistically valid because everybody would want to legalize it there. Step 3 - This would be the final step. We would take the survey created in steps 1 and 2 and attempt to run it on a statistically valid sample size in the real world. I took statics in college and it seems the most difficult part is getting a statistically valid sample size that accurately reflects the voting population. We could either do this on our own. Or perhaps see if we could get some grad students at ASU, U of A, University of Phoenix, Grand Canyon College or some other university to help us do a survey. Preferably students who have a background in surveys and statics. And get them to help us. Last Eric mentioned paying a $1,000 or $2,000 to a firm to do the survey for us. Definitions of terms I am usingHere are some of my definitions for the wording in the survey.Marijuana - that includes good old fashioned marijuana as well as hashish, wax all all the other things that contain THC that will get you high.
