A government monopoly on growing and selling marijuana in Arizona???

Some people think that about Andrew Myers and the Arizona Dispensary Association

96.9% of the medical marijuana patients in Arizona live within in the 25 mile limit - A government monopoly on growing and selling marijuana for the medical marijuana dispsenaries - Arizona Dispensary Association - Andrew Myers - MPP - Marijuana Policy Project
Some people think that when Andrew Myers and the folks at MPP or Marijuana Policy Project wrote Prop 203 which is Arizona's Medical Marijuana Act they intentionally wrote it to give the medical marijuana dispensaries a government monopoly on growing and selling marijuana along with creating a government welfare program for the medical marijuana dispensaries.

This article seems to confirm that Prop 203 has given a government monopoly to the medical marijuana dispensaries in Arizona. According to the article 96.9 percent of the people in Arizona live within 25 miles of a medical marijuana dispensary and it is illegal for them to grow their own marijuana if they have a medical marijuana prescription or recommendation. Which means these people are required by law to buy their marijuana from a medical marijuana dispensary.

This article is called "Fast Facts" and is from the July 2014 Arizona Medical Marijuana Program Newsletter.

Now oddly it just happens to seem that Andrew Myers is in a position to benefit financially from Prop 203 which he and the folks at MPP wrote. At the July 2014 Phoenix NORML meeting we found out that Andrew Myers was the head of the Arizona Dispensary Association. Which I think is an industry group for all the medical marijuana dispensaries in Arizona.

At the July 2014 Phoenix NORML meeting Andrew Myers said something to the effect that once the free market kicks in the price of medical marijuana should drop down to the dirt cheap price of $200 an ounce from the current outrageous high price of $300+ an ounce.

Yea, sure. Currently marijuana sells illegally on the black market for around a measly $60 and ounce.

Sounds like Andrew Myers and the members of the Arizona Dispensary Association love that government monopoly on growing and selling medical marijuana and would love to have it extend to growing and selling recreational marijuana when it is legalized in Arizona.
