Jesus Rubalcava wants more of YOUR money for HIS Schools???

It looks like Jesus Rubalcava who is a Gila Bend Unified School District Governing Board member has a financial interest in the government taking your money and using it to educate your children in the school districts he oversees.

I wonder how much Jesus Rubalcava gets paid in his government jobs as a member of the Gila Bend Unified School District Governing Board?

I suspect the one of the reasons Jesus Rubalcava thinks public education is a right, is because it means more money in his wallet for every kid that's enrolled in his school district.

Of course as a Libertarian I think that we should get rid of the government schools and replace them with private schools.

My Turn: Public education is everyone's fight

Jesus Rubalcava, AZ I See It 12:44 p.m. MST January 13, 2016

My Turn: It won't be an easy battle, but here are a few ways to ensure all students -- rich or poor, majority or minority -- get an excellent education.

In spite of consistent budget cuts to education, Arizona’s public schools continue to make steady progress. Our school boards, administrators and educators have managed to creatively provide amazing opportunities to our students. [Jesus Rubalcava is bragging about himself and the government bureaucrats that work for him]

In fact, it was our founding fathers who dreamed of a nation that would provide extensive educational opportunities to all its children, and we have a long history of progress toward this goal. [That's 100% BULLSH*T - Public schools or government schools didn't exist in 1776. And for that matter the US Constitution doesn't give the government the power to educate kids] However, wide achievement gaps continue between poor and minority students and their peers in other groups.

We must remember, public education shouldn’t be a battle for parents or educators on their own. It should be a battle where everyone is involved in the front lines.

If we are to going to prepare our students to be civic participants in today’s democratic society, and if we are to ensure that a child’s racial/ethnic, socio-economic or family background no longer predicts their access to educational opportunity or their level of success, we must understand all factors that affect students’ educational performance. If provided the proper resources and supports, students can and will learn at high levels.

It is important to note that progress has been made toward improving students’ opportunities and outcomes. We still continue to wait for a successful outcome in the inflation lawsuit with a passage of Proposition 123. Voters must understand that this does not fix the funding issues the schools are facing. Passage would provide additional resources and would put monies into the classrooms to boost achievement for all students. Failure of Prop. 123 would mean that everything is out the window and we are back in court. If education is a top priority for Arizonans and Gov. Ducey believes this, then why are we still waiting? [translation - Jesus Rubalcava wants more of your MONEY]

Don't lose your stamina or determination

I think that we all agree that money, if well spent, will have a huge impact on educational opportunities. [Yes, I was right about Jesus Rubalcava wanting more money] This is why: although the legislative session just started and the school year is halfway over, we must not let go of that passion in fighting for our public schools and their funding. We must continue to fight to ensure that all schools are provided with necessary resources they need to provide all their students the opportunity for a quality education.

Take a broad definition of "our kids"

This is no easy fight. We as citizens of Arizona must embrace a broad definition of “our kids.” Public education, community and business leaders must work together to achieve goals that positively impact all students. Those that know must raise awareness of where legislators and the governor stand in relation to our priorities and those of the students and communities we serve. Together, we must take the lead in successfully addressing these issues and continue to keep up the fight for the best educational experience for all students in Arizona.

[I think the reason Jesus Rubalcava is saying "our kids" is because it sounds a lot better if he says he wants more of OUR money to educate OUR kids, then if he says he want's more of YOUR money to educate YOUR kids]

Jesus Rubalcava is a Gila Bend Unified School District Governing Board member and Arizona School Boards Association immediate past president.
