In the old days the cops would just clean up the wreck and get traffic flowing again.
Now they get lots of federal money to create jobs for themselves investigating the hell out of these accidents. I was told the wreck happened at 3 a.m. this morning and the cops should be done investigating it by 10 a.m. today. Sadly the cops are more concerned about getting money then cleaning up the wreck and getting traffic back to normal. From what I read years ago is that the Feds give the local cops lots of money to over investigate any fatal crash. And that's why fatal traffic crashes usually cause delays that last many, many hours. I was on the first light rail train of the day. It stopped at 44tht Street and Washington at the Airport station, instead of going to Mesa. They had shutting buses taking people to the all the light rail stops in Tempe and Mesa. I got off at the Priest Road station were the wreck occurred. Priest Road is the 1st stop after the Sky Harbor station.
