Let's tax the krap out of Christians

So he gets a 15% property tax passed which only applies to church properties passed. And then he gets a 15% tax passed on all sales of religions items such as Bibles and crosses. And then he gets a tax passed which charges a person $15 for every religious event the person attends such as going to mass or church.

His reasoning is that superstition is bad. He is correct on that, but then uses that logic to jump to the illogical conclusion that because superstition is bad, superstitious people should be shaken down and forced to pay for a large percent of running the government.

All you religions people will probably say that is grossly unfair. Even though I am an atheist I will agree with you. It is grossly unfair.

Why should religious people be shaken down by the government for money because some government bureaucrat thinks superstition is bad?

I certainly don't think religious people should be shaken down for money to pay for running the government.

Say a homophobic Christian politician decides gay people should be forced to pay for running most of the government.

So he gets a 15% property tax passed which only applies to properties used by gays passed, such as on gay bars. And then he gets a 15% tax passed on all sales of items used by gay folks, like anything with one of those gay rainbows on it. And then he gets a tax passed which charges a person $15 for every gay event the person attends.

His reasoning is that gays are second class citizens because the Bible says gays so. He then uses that silly homophobic logic to jump to the illogical conclusion that because gays are bad according to the Bible that gays should be shaken down and forced to pay for a large percent of running the government.

All you people that support gays rights will probably say that is grossly unfair.

Why should gay people be shaken down by the government for money because some homophobic government jerk thinks gays are bad?

Let's tax the krap out of Marijuana Smokers

For the last 75 years or so the government has been demonizing marijuana users and painting them as the scum of the earth. Sadly a lot of people believe this rubbish and hate marijuana smokers.

Now in my first two examples Christians and gays were being persecuted and forced to pay for more then their fair share of taxes because some government nut job didn't like Christians or gays.

I think almost all of us agree that is unfair.

Now if you take my first two examples of people being persecuted and being forced to pay more then their fair share of taxes from Christians and gays to marijuana users you will probably also agree with me that it's WRONG to shake down marijuana users and expect them to pay outrageous taxes on marijuana when it is legalized.

When marijuana is legalized there shouldn't be any special taxes on marijuana. Why should pot smokers be expected to pay more then their fair share of running the government.

To shake down pot smokers with outrageous taxes on marijuana is just as bad and evil as shaking down Christians for money with taxes on religious products. Or just as bad as shaking down gay people for money with taxes on products gay people use.
