Democrats are gun grabbers!!!

72% of Democrats want to flush the 2nd Amendment down the toilet!!!

No wonder all the atheist Democrats I know treat me like sh*t for my support of the Second Amendment.

According to the poll 72% of the Democrats are gun grabbers, while out of the entire population only 42% are gun grabbers.

Most Democrats believe the "global warming" line too

And no wonder why all the atheist Democrats I know also treat me like sh*t for my skepticism on "global warming".

Personally I think "global warming" is mostly about scientists and businessmen who want to get government money to fix the "alleged" global warming problem so they can make themselves wealthy with all the government money.

According to the poll 84% of Democrats believe in "global warming" while only 33% of Republicans believe in "global warming".

I am a Libertarian and they didn't give the views of Libertarians in the poll.

My view is "global warming" might exist, but I am skepical. And even if "global warming" does exist, I support it 100% because I love hot weather.

When I go to HSGP meetings, they seem to hate Republicans because they are always bad mouthing them. Same for when I go to AU (Americans United for Separation of Church and State) and FFRF (Freedom From Religion Foundation) meetings. They are always bad mouthing Republicans.

Arizona voters evenly split on marijuana legalization, sharply divided on climate change

Dec 1, 2015, 10:53am MST

Mike Sunnucks Senior Reporter Phoenix Business Journal

A new poll shows Arizona voters split almost evenly when it comes to marijuana legalization but are divided when it comes climate change.

There could be a 2016 ballot measure legalizing marijuana for recreational use.

A new Arizona State University Morrison-Cronkite Poll shows 49 percent of state voters support marijuana legalization while 51 percent oppose.

The statewide poll of more than 900 voters found younger voters and Democrats tend to support legalization while Republicans and older voters oppose it. Sixty-four percent of Democrats back cannabis legalization while only 29 percent of Republicans do, according to the poll.

“Predictably, those 30 and younger (69 percent) and those age 31 to 55 (57 percent) are more likely to favor legalization than those 56 and older (36 percent),” said David Daugherty, associate director at Morrison Institute which conducted the poll. “It is important to note, Republicans and older adults vote in larger numbers than either Democrats or young adults, which would, at least at this point in time, point toward likely defeat of the legalization of recreational marijuana.”

Arizona voters narrowly approved a medical marijuana ballot measure in 2010. Colorado, Washington and some other states have approved legalization measures.

The poll also shows ideological divides between Arizona’s Republican and Democratic voters on a range of social and other issues including climate change, gun control and same-sex marriage.

The ASU poll shows only 33 percent of Republicans believe climate change is primarily caused by human and commercial activity. That compares to 84 percent of Democrats.

Here’s a few of poll questions.

Climate change is caused, primarily, by human activity

All registered voters 60%

Democrats 84%

Liberal Independents 89%

Moderate Independents 66%

Conservative Independents 46%

Republicans 33%

Arizona’s gun laws should be more restrictive than they are
All registered voters 42%

Democrats 72%

Liberal independents 73%

Moderate independents 40%

Conservative independents 31%

Republicans 16%

When I posted this article on Facebook I sure got a lot of hateful and mean responses from atheist in atheist groups I posted it in.

It sure sounds like atheists that are Democrats are real *ssholes.

Although I shouldn't make generalizations like that. There are lots of atheist Democrats who are not jerks.

Here are some of those responses. https://www.facebook.com/groups/atheistnexus/permalink/10153938099333072/ Lisa Panger Did they poll scientists? 98% of the scientific community backs global warming because THEY UNDERSTAND IT. Look sonny, I don't believe we have a right to bear arms. If you want to understand why, simply explain the first part of that right which reads...."A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,..." Here, I'll do it for you. This part has every much to do with this as the second part. But gun nuts these days pay no attention to that first part. The Right to bear arms belongs ONLY to members of a "well regulated militia". That's what it means. And no....your right-wing militia these days is NOT "well regulated". To be "well regulated" they would have to fall under the command and control of the Government, and right wing militias do not. In fact, nearly all of them exist to defy the government not obey it. All of this is covered in the Federalist papers, identifying the founders' real intentions here. As to climate change (AKA Global Warming), 97% of the scientific community agree with the findings. Those that do not happen to be on the payroll of some of the worst carbon polluters in this country. The evidence bears it out that our burning of fossil fuels has accelerated the warming trend (See chart below). In fact, the carbon level has never been this high, so we have no clue as to the damage we have done already. But we do know that it's melting the glaciers on Greenland and Antarctica, and there's enough water there to raise sea levels by as much as 60 meters or more. Did you know that more than 80% of the world population lives withing ten meters of sea level? That's nearly 6 billion people displaced by sea level rise. Never mind that a warmer ocean has more volume than a cold ocean, which would only exacerbate the problem. And haven't you noticed that storm intensities are getting worse W had a hurricane this year in the pacific with sustained winds of 210 mph....if we scaled hurricanes beyond the current 1 thru 5 categories as they should be, that one was a category 7. Never mind that parts of the US are having droughts never seen before, and storms of such intensity that the equivalent of their entire annual rainfall has occurred over a single night. The evidence is right there in front of us, if you can be honest with yourself. Vin Rohm's photo. But polls only tell you what people believe, they are not evidence of what is true. If we look at the beliefs of those who understand the evidence for and against climate change, we see substantial agreement that it is real and that it would impose serious costs on humanity. This suggests that if global warming deniers were to actually study and come to understand the evidence, that a substantial percentage of them would change their mind. As for gun ownership, the question here is to how to keep people safe - to save lives and prevent unnecessary killing. The argument here is that a certain percentage of the population is prone to lose their temper and make snap judgments. If there is a gun nearby, people die. If there is no gun nearby, they yell and shout at each other but nobody gets killed. This is an empirical question - one to be answered by looking at actual evidence governing the chance that you or somebody you care about will end up killed or wounded depending on how easy it is for others to get a hold of a gun. This actually has nothing to do with being a democrat or a republican. I shun both parties, for different reasons. I find democrats to be just as eager to ignore science and reason when it yields results that do not conform to their political ideology as republicans. It is just that, different ideologies mean different issues. For democrats, it is "exporting jobs" and "genetically modified foods" and "nuclear power" and "minimum wage increases" where they like to ignore the evidence. What matters is not "democrat" or "republican". What matters is what the evidence says on each specific issue. Ignore the tribal memberships, and focus on the issues. The only real argument for wanting to have a gun is "I like guns. Guns are cool," which is fine. I agree wholeheartedly, but I also think that in the face of a near insurmountable gun violence problem in this country, that gun ownership and possession need to be better regulated. I think that owning a gun should require a license. Not one that is difficult to obtain, but one that would make background checks nearly instantaneous and require gun safety classes. I think that special licensing should be required for different classes of guns, like high capacity, magazine fed, military style rifles, automatic weapons and modified weapons. None of these proposals would keep a person that is already legally allowed to own a gun from owning one, but it would go a long way towards keeping them out of the hands of those that shouldn't have them. We should also have a nationwide voluntary buy-back program. The ones that have been done in America have been successful, but they were done on such a small scale that they were not very effective in means of the population as a whole. From Care2 and Audubon: "Birds Moving Further North as the Climate Changes "A growing body of research has been tracking the gradual but steady impact of climate change on birds. Using 40 years of citizen-science Christmas Bird Count data, the National Audubon Society has documented that more than half of the birds that winter in North America have shifted their ranges northward over the last 40 years in an effort to adapt to the changing climate. "Northward movement was detected among species of every type. These shifts – averaging 37 miles, with some more than 200 miles – are closely correlated to long-term winter temperature increases. To put it another way, if you were told that you had a serious disease by a medical professional, I'm assuming that you might get a 2nd, or even a 3rd opinion... from other medical professionals who could be considered to be knowledgeable about your condition. Ed Andrews Ed Andrews Well, this is a bad thing because of a couple of reasons.... one, there is every possibility that the earth will not get better and is doing whatever it is going to do, regardless of how many resources are thrown that way. If this is actually the case, those resources and research would be much better spent trying to figure out how to deal with the changes, rather than trying desparately to stop something we can't prevent and have nothing to do with.... Secondly, all the money being spent/wasted could be used elsewhere, like giving our schoolteachers raises, fixing our roads and bridges, health care for the elderly, all day kindergarten, etc... Like · Reply · December 1 at 11:28pm Elena Ballesteros Elena Ballesteros But who determines that? Scientists, right? The very ones who say that we should be trying to fix global warming right now. Mike Harris Mike Harris There is simply no doubt that global warming is real, human caused, and serious. Here's a quote by the scientists who discovered that *some* areas of the arctic, as measured very inexactly by satellite altimeters, are growing rather than shrinking: "We're essentially in agreement with other studies that show an increase in ice discharge in the Antarctic Peninsula and the Thwaites and Pine Island region of West Antarctica," said Jay Zwally, a glaciologist with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, and lead author of the study, which was published on Oct. 30 in the Journal of Glaciology. "Our main disagreement is for East Antarctica and the interior of West Antarctica - there, we see an ice gain that exceeds the losses in the other areas." This is a tiny detail of arcane science that climate skeptics pick at to try to confuse the public into believing reasonable doubt still exists among scientists. (Another one is the theory of sun spots causing temperature rise - that's also a biggie among climate skeptics even though the originator of that theory has now completely disavowed it.) None of these often promoted alternate theories are believed by the experts that actually study this stuff. James Hanson, former head of NASA has climate models that have very accurately predicted global temperature rise over the last two decades. There is far more proof for global climate change than many other generally well accepted scientific theories such as the existence of the Higgs Boson, planets in other solar systems, drug efficacy, nutrition, or a million other things I could name. One would think that any analysis that concludes that climate scientists have somehow colluded in search of research dollars to devious ends would conclude the same about all other scientific research, since the process in all scientific fields is virtually identical. The difference of course is its industry that has a motivation to sow doubt among the public for the case of climate change, and certainly not the relatively poor research scientists that are basically just doing their jobs. I am amused that anyone using a "follow the money" approach would conclude, absolutely without any evidence of which I'm aware, that it must be the scientists that are lying! And I would add, its a pretty hypocritical view if your like most people and rely on scientists to build your toys (that cell phone in your hand didn't materialize out of thin air!) and treat you when you're sick.
